We believe in the future
of Ogliastra

WHO WE ARE.

Quality Ogliastra

We are people, companies and administrations who believe in the
future of Ogliastra, also linked to its food, an expression of
a land rich in traditions and yet to be discovered. To
enhance this history, we created the Distretto
Agroalimentare di Qualità Ogliastra.

In the heart of eastern Sardinia, the District promotes the agricultural, food, cultural and environmental excellence of an
extraordinary territory, also known for the longevity of its inhabitants, recognized as one of the world’s five “Blue Zones,” thanks in part to the quality of local food.

Based on the collaboration between public agencies, associations,
local businesses and citizens, the District builds a development model capable of creatively and sharingly addressing the
challenges of an ever-changing world and climate.

Local and traceable supply chains: the value of food

Our efforts focus on two supply chains that symbolize Ogliastra's identity, combining tradition, culture and innovation: Fresh stuffed pasta, such as culurgiones, with their ear shape and potato, pecorino and mint filling, a symbol of tradition and conviviality. Baked goods, such as pistoccu bread, which is light and long-lasting, a child of the local pastoral culture and is still an expression of Ogliastra's roots and lifestyle. Our supply chains are based on traceable processes and increasingly value the use of exclusively local raw materials. This approach tells the essence of the territory, contributing to its development and growth, in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Agenda 2030. In particular, we are inspired by: SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production ), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 3 (Health and Wellbeing).

Traceable food, authentic stories: we cultivate supply chains that nourish the land
