Founded in 1993 in Bari Sardo, Ogliastra, Chiai Dairy is a family-run business that manages the entire production cycle. On an area of 160 hectares, the farm grows corn, grain and fodder to feed, in a semi-wild state, 900 sheep and 400 goats. The animals graze freely on the Teccu plateau, imparting the typical aromas of the Mediterranean bush to the milk. The dairy is known for producing sheep and goat cheeses, both fresh and aged, cottage cheese and yogurt. One of the flagship products is “Casu Ageru,” a fresh cheese typical of Ogliastra, prized for its unique flavor and health-promoting properties.
