Founded in 1949 by Mario Mereu, Tenute Perda Rubia was the first winery to bottle in the Province of Nuoro, Sardinia, after the war. Specializing in the production of pure and free-range Cannonau wines, the winery has contributed significantly to the international spread of this grape variety. Now in its third generation, the winery continues to enhance local winemaking traditions, cultivating about 20 hectares of vineyards in Ogliastra, on the east coast of Sardinia. In addition to Cannonau, the winery cultivates other native grape varieties, such as Vermentino, Semidano and Nuragus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winery adopts traditional agronomic practices, with manual harvesting and a controlled yield to ensure the highest quality wines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same care and attention to tradition and the land is pursued with the farm’s other activities: cereal growing, olive growing and forestry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particularly for cereals, the farm carries on the cultivation of durum wheat and barley, choosing ancient varieties and alternating them, in rotation, with fodder legumes. The goal is to produce grains that are suitable for both food and livestock use, maintaining the environmental and social balance that has been perpetuated for centuries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
